Keyona grew up in Detroit, MI and previously sat on the Board of Directors for the Guidance Center which focused on early childhood development and community growth. After working a few years in Advertising, she branched out into public speaking. She has spoken to thousands of high school students about how to be successful in college and in their careers. Soon she realized that she wanted to connect with students on a much more personal level and truly inspire change. She has traveled to 10 different countries and has come to realize that nothing is more precious than the human heart. She has personally accepted Rachel's Challenge and is honored to help continue Rachel's legacy and “touch the heart of millions”.
About Rachel's Challenge
Rachel’s Challenge is a non-political, non-religious, non-profit organization that exists to equip and inspire individuals to replace acts of violence, bullying, and negativity with acts of respect, kindness, and compassion. Rachel’s Challenge is based on the life and writings of Rachel Joy Scott who was the first victim of the Columbine school shootings in 1999. Through her example, Rachel’s Challenge is making a positive impact in the lives of millions of people every year.
Rachel’s inspiring story provides a simple, yet powerful example of how small acts of kindness and acceptance motivate us to consider our relationships with the people we come in contact with every day. Rachel’s Challenge renews our hope that our life has meaning and purpose. Rachel’s story gives us permission to start our own chain reaction of kindness and compassion, which positively affects the climate in our schools and communities.
